By Following their Premiere for Season 6 in Los Angeles, HBO decided to release a second trailer for the upcoming Season of Game of Thrones. This trailer features a panoply of new footage and hence new theories can be made about it. All and all, April 24th cannot come soon enough. Here’s a thorough breakdown of the trailer:
Standoff In Castle Black
Following the Death of Jon Snow in Season 5, the question remains: What’s to happen to his dead body. Here, we see brothers of the Nights Watch standing in guard, ready to attack.
Which then cuts to Davos wielding Longclaw, Jon Snow’s Valyrian Steel Sword and 2 other brothers of the Nights Watch standing ground inside as well.
Followed by a shot of Jon’s Dead Body. HBO insists that he is dead, hence why they are fighting for it…..
Tormund is heard saying he thought “He was the one that would lead us throughout the Long Night”, and that he was wrong. After the events at Hardhome, one can expect another battle with the White Walkers.
Tyrion In Mereen
Tyrion is seen in the throne room of Mereen walking down the steps, about to confront the Masters. Him being called “Little Man” can mean more internal conflict in Mereen are to occur.
Jaime Lannister Confronts The High Sparrow
While Jaime was busy “rescuing” Myrcella, Cersei gave the Faith Militant power, and that completely backfired on her. Following her humiliation at the hands of the Faith Militant, Jaime, a Kingsguard and her brother, confronts the High Sparrow, ready to wield his dagger
The High Sparrow confronts Jaime about shedding blood in a holy place…
… which doesn’t make Jaime budge one bit. “The Gods won’t mind. They have spilled more blood than all of us combined” he replies. Expect a bloody battle between the Lannisters and the Faith.
Melisandre, The Red Woman
The first episode of Season 6 is aptly titled “The Red Woman”. Looks like Melisandre will have an important part to play.
Here we see the flames in which she has her visions. Another ritual about to begin?
Drogon Attacks The Dothraki
A horde of Dothrakis look up in the sky as Drogon’s shadow covers them
Drogon, bigger than ever, is coming for his mother, captive of the Dothrakis
Daenerys has been captive of the Dothrakis at the end of Season 5, and is being stripped of her clothes as a common slave. She is no longer a Khaleesi to them
Stripped Naked, she is seen confronting what appears to be a witch, much like Mirri Maz Duur which she had burned to death in Season 1
Bran In Training
Bran is seen pursuing his training. His eyes reveal he is warging, most likely having visions of the past and future.
Arya And The Faceless Men
Jaqen/The Kindly Man is seen ripping a face off a dead body, most likely to add it to the Hall of Faces in the House of Black and White
A Blind Arya and Jaqen discuss her training and punishment…
… She has been given a second chance. She won’t be given a third, he tells her.
Sansa In The North
Sansa Stark looks to be in a safe environment, wearing Stark clothing. She reveals that all she thinks about is “What was taken” from her. Maybe Davos will aid her in reclaiming the North from the Boltons?
Cut to Ramsey Bolton being the Bastard that he is…
… and Walder Frey in his hall, his two Stark murdering sons at his side.
This looks like the Red Wedding 2.0, with Lannister soldiers in the background.
Littlefinger In The North
The montage of what was taken from Sansa then cuts to Littlefinger, who seems to be in the North. He looks through the corner of his eye, as if he sees something, or someone…
Who is Littlefinger confronting here?
Jorah’s Greyscale
Jorah’s Greyscale seems to be getting worse.
The Tyrells
Loras and Margaery Tyrell comfort each other, as they are still captives of the Faith Militant.
Davos Rides In The North
Looks like the Onion Knight might survive the confrontation in Castle Black. Here, we see him riding in the North, a Stark banner behind him.
The Boltons mark their territory, and prepare an attack in front of Winterfell.
Varys & Tyrion Rule Mereen
The former Master of Whispers doesn’t seem too impressed by what’s in front of him.
Turns out it’s another Red Woman. This one smiles at them, probably wanting Mereen to convert to the Lord of Light.
She leaves the Throne Room of Mereen, Tyrion and Varys still standing. Maybe this scene will also be in the first episode, given its already confirmed title “The Red Woman”.
The Greyjoys
After being left out for almost 2 seasons, the Greyjoys will be prominent again in the show. We get a nice shot of Pyke, the Iron Islands’ capital and liege castle at night during what appears to be a storm.
Followed by a hooded Euron Greyjoy, brother to current King of the Iron Islands Balon Greyjoy, removing his hood. This may be a scene that had yet to happen in the series during the War of Five Kings…
The Siege Of Riverrun
After the Tullys were decimated at the Red Wedding in Season 3, their storyline were also put on hold. This shot confirms the show will pick up on their capital Riverrun still under siege by Lannister soliders.
Tower of Joy Flashbacks
A Targaryen soldier kills a Stark Soldier in the Tower of Joy Flashback at the end of Robert’s Rebellion. This flashback might reveal the biggest mystery in the entire series with regards to Lyanna Stark that day.
The Lannisters Strike Back
The Boy King Tommen Baratheon is seen here, looking powerless.
His mother, Cersei looks at him, maybe trying to comfort him. We hear her utter words of violence and retaliation to all of the Lannister’s Enemies.
Cut to a shot of someone creeping up on a praying High Sparrow in the Sept of Baelor…
…And shadows of what seems to be an assassination. Blood will be shed between the Lannisters and the Faith.
Even more so considering this shot of Ser Robert Strong, aka a resurrected Gregor Clegane.
Kingsmoot
Yara Greyjoy is seen walking in the Iron Islands. A Kingsmoot, to elect a new leader will occur…
The shot is established as she is returning home and is surprised by what she is seeing. Maybe her uncle?
Turmoil In Kings Landing
Kingsguard Jaime Lannister is accompanied by Mace Tyrell and an army of Tyrell soldiers in front of the Sept of Baelor.
The Faith is holding Margaery and Loras hostage as the Tyrell soliders hold formation.
The White Walkers Are The Real Threat
As Davos is heard saying that “The Real War is between the Living and the Dead”, we get a shot of the Night King and his 3 Horsemen (Jon killed the 4th at Hardhome with Longclaw in Season 5).
Davos warns the Mormont (Notice the Bear sigil in the background), that the “Dead are Coming”.
The Night King’s silhouette is seen walking towards flames. Does this shot follow a battle with the White Walkers?
The White Walkers are standing, in what seems to be a victorious pose, following a battle. Or maybe is it a Flashback from the Long Night?
The Mysterious Flame Wielding Silhouette
Still No Clue as who this might be, although it is obvious it is in the North.
Samwell Tarly And Gilly
Gilly seems to be comforting Samwell inside the ship on their voyage to Oldtown. We know Sam will meet his parents this season, maybe a confrontation between him and his father Randyll Tarly will vex him?
Gratuitous Girl Girl Action Courtesy Of HBO
This is HBO after all… Here, we see Yara Greyjoy enjoying the pleasure of a Volantis slave girl, given the tear tattoo on her eye. Maybe she is in Essos when she learns the news of recent events in the Iron Islands involving her uncle Euron…
The Three Eyed Raven
A newly cast Three Eyed Raven is seen in what seems to be the same backdrop as the Tower of Joy flashback.
Arya Fights The Waif
Arya and the Waif do not get along and it’s shown even more so here as the 2 girls fight each other in the House of Black and White.
Arya, who seems to have regained her vision (The second chance Jaqen was referring to), and fights back the Waif. Maybe she’s fighting to escape the Faceless Men, now that she has her vision back?
The Battle In The North
This Battle should be the big battle that gets built up throughout the season. We see Tormund preparing himself to attack with what oddly looks like Stannis Baratheon in the background. The One True King may still be alive after all…

Blood In Mereen
Blood is still being spilled in the streets of Mereen. Hence why Tyrion is probably considering unleasing the two remaining Dragons on them
Tyrion’s Wits
Tyrion delivers yet another witty line to Missandei when she asks him how he knows that Dragons do not do well in captivity: “That’s what I do. I drink, and I know things.”
Tyrion Meets The Dragons
This shot should get everyone hyped up. Tyrion, torch in hand goes down the steps of the cave where Daenerys held her 2 other dragons captive, Varys waiting at the door.
He stands alone, confronting Viserion and Rhaegon.
Whether this dragon is Viserion or Rhaegon, he spits fire at Tyrion. Maybe this scene will reveal another one of the series’ big mysteries concerning Tyrion…
